Topic : Movie comparison among Korean and foreign movies according to different genres

Goal : Compare Korean and Foreign movies, and to inform the similarities and differences among the two different movies 

Steps required:
1.Research movies/analyze movie
2.Select movies
3.Compare and contrast the two movies selected for each genre
4. Making film
(insert narration, short clips of movie)
5.Editing film

Rough outline of the project:
Comedy, Action, Horror 

Our team choose a topic as compare Korean and Foreign movies, and to inform the similarities among the two different movies. It mean each countries have their own culture and thought. Also, it reflect on their movies. It is necessary the directors of movies put their philosopy and thought in movie. Because of this, we can understand a part of their mind and charaters by watching their movie. In this reason, we decided to introduce examples about this topic by comparing our (Korean) movies with other countries movies.


                                                                                       


The left picture is a Korean director, Yong Hwa, Kim. He directed many successful movies like '국가대표 (The national team)', '미녀는 괴로워', 'My way'. The right picture is a British director, Christopher Nolan. He directed Dark Knight series, Inception, Memento, Man of Steel.
This two directors have one primary same point. It is they direct movies and also write a play themselves. If I choose one different point between them, it is what thay put in movies. In Korean director's case, he put satire about our society in his movies. However, in the other case, he put philosophycal thoughts like human's essence or agony in his movie.


Like this, there are differences among countries.








In this project, I will take charge of narration and editing film. 'Editing film' means I will gather each films of my team member and edit, then make a complete video clip.

The meaningful pictures I think

The first picture is the world's first atomic device, 'Little Boy'. This was the first nuclear bomb used in 2nd World War.
Why I think this is important picture is it is start of the nuclear war. Actually I think the nuclear war is already started in silence. Any country want to make it and have it because it means the country's power. Rapidly we can say the start of North Korea's nuclear bomb is the 'Little Boy'. So I think it is gloomy and meaningful picture.

This picture is the world's first semiconductor chip. Semiconductor make reduce scales of computers sharply. It make these time's all electronic system and equipment. We can use computer and smart phone from this picture. I feel hopeful because we can make better world than now by continuing to develop our technology.

As you can see in this picture, it is a picture about a movie 'The Lord OF The Rings.

The reason of why I choose this picture is it is the start of CG system and method. Before this movie was made, Hollywood's CG abilities were poor and little terrible, but after this movie was released the CG of movies was better than before. Even also movie's background music became better. Many experts said about this movie it made new start of fantasy movie. Because of this fact, I feel exciting and this movie is one of my best movies.

Whoever is Korean or figure skating fan, can know exactly what is the moment in this picture. Our figure queen (retired in few days ago) was awarded in Vancouver Olympic 2010 at this picture. I didn't miss the moment played Korean national anthem and Queen cried. I feel glory when I think about it.

This is picture about Jewish school library. In contrast with Korean's, the mood of their library is distracted and noisy. However it is the way they study like discussion, persuasion and argument. In my high school life, I could study this way many times and know how it is efficient. It can make developing our thoughts and speaking abilities. Sometimes I think we need a place and a chance for discussion and saying opinion.
So I feel inconvenience about this picture.

Topic : Pursuing one goal vs Multitasking

When I take the Culture and Business Leadership Class , most of guest speakers said ' Just focus one thing and continue to try and make it successful', but in reality we have to multitask on everything like work, self management, and any other activities. Even there is no time to spare because there are a lot of things we have to do. Everyday we worry about how we can finish and prepare about all things. So I think there is a solution for our university life and our future and dream by extension, and I found that we can use a milestone of our life and I will introduce that.

There are few truthiness in these days. Truthiness is a quality characterizing a "truth" that a person making an argument or assertion claims to know intuitively "from the gut" or because it "feels right" without regard to evidence, logic, intellectual examination, or facts. This is dictionary mean. It can be described by a false that people believe real fact. In our life, this truthiness controls our living and life patterns.

This man made a term 'Truthiness', he is a comedian and his name is Steve Colbert.

First truthiness is ‘everything is important.’ In many cases, people want to make good results in everything because it show his or her ability and they satisfy about the results. But it can make all works become ruin works.

 Second truthiness is ‘Multitasking is an ability’. Nowadays, multitasking is an essential factor for anyone. Everyone thinks a person who does well multitasking is able person. Even also, some people think a person who tries for just one thing is a single minded person and ignore him.

However, actually multitasking make our work time shorten. For concentrating on a work, we need a time to adapt on the work's content. So, as often as we multitask, the time to give us spend.

Last truthiness is ‘We can multitask on many work.’ This is the most important truthiness. However genius, we cannot success everything. Our brain divide our concentration on each work. So we can concentrate perfectly one thing when we multitask. According to a result of study, if we have a light phone call in driving, it is same with drunken driving. In this part, we can understand multitasking is a pie in the sky.



In this case, switching activities mean multitasking. As we can see in the chart, we can understand how no switching is shorter than switching between tasks.

This chart is a reaction time, a completion time, and a percentage of correct ancwers when subjects solve problems like alphabet matter.

The sky blue graph is datas of multitasking and gray graph is single-tasking. We can see single-tasking is more efficient than multitasking.

This experiment was researched by computer engineering department's professors in Korea University

So I want to say about ‘focusing one thing’. I think it really need in our world for us. Many successful people like Bill Gates, Gary Keller say 'For success, just focus on one thing. Gary Keller who introduce about campaign for making goal and focusing it write a book 'The one thing' about focusing one thing.

He said in the book, "If you want to get two rabbit, you will lost all of them." Even also, he is very successful businessman and his said has value to listen.

Of course, there is a good point for multitasking like fast adapting to new environment. And we can overcome fears about unfamiliar and gain confidence that if you failed, you can start again. Also if we have ability, multitasking can shine. For example, multitasking make fast work processing and can finish many thing by one time. However, my opinion is still it is advisable to focus on just one thing.

By first reason, we can move in work immediately. If we have one purpose, we can do it immediately because we don’t need to think what we want to do and have to do. It make we save our time and make we can do more.

Second reason is we can do what we want. If you choose just one thing among our many works, of course we will choose what we want. It will make we can work in happier circumstance and improve efficiency.

Last reason, by finishing works one by one along our decisions, we can believe ourselves and our choice. Thereby, we can have confidence and will approach to new work by same mind and direction.

So if you want successful result, find your goal and focus on that. Sometimes it makes you work harder, but if you focus on one thing by all of your concentration, you can finish it faster than multitasking and get better result. As a result, you can do more work. It is better to focus on just one thing than to miss an opportunity wandering among many choices. Sometimes multitasking can ruin all things vaguely.

This movie is 'The slickers'. In the movie, the young man who is a perfect city man lost his way by his city life. So he decided to go outside and want to be a cowboy. In the process, he met the old cowboy and travel to find the lost cow. This movie clip is the way to go cow and the moment the two persons become friends.

If you don’t have enough ability, there is no need to multitask. Just focus on one thing. Then, you can earn a bigger and successful one.
